Scam ‘reviewers’ – protect yourself
*** WARNING ***
We receive emails along these lines:
Hi,
If you are looking for GUARANTEED and HONEST reviews for your book, please contact me for details. I also offer various other book promotion, editing and copy-writing services.Rupert
They are worded slightly differently, some are allegedly from English Literature students, some English teachers.
DO NOT reply as they are probably trying to scam a free copy of a book and then set the file up so they can re-sell it. If it’s a bona fide reviewer there would be more evidence of what they do, and importantly the genres they review.
Publishers your intellectual property with no small degree of paranoia – if final files of books get into the wrong hands it can damage sales, so they don’t get released, not even to authors.
It takes time to prepare a review copy of a book (ebook or print), and it’s important it goes only to genuine reviewers.
